Bethlehem
United Holy Church of America
A Message from the Pastor
Greetings from Bethlehem United Holy Church located in the heartland of northern Durham, NC! Amidst the countryside you will find our church sitting upon the landscape, like one from out of a storybook. Peering through one of our windows on a Sunday morning or Wednesday night during Bible study, you will find a worship service filled with warm smiles, genuine love and care.
Our church has been around for a long time and the values of faith, fellowship and family still remain today. We take seriously our commitment to serving God and building Christ's Church. The issues of our contemporary world are addressed in conversation, preaching and prayer, while being faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of our major activities during the 2010 year included noon day prayer and biblical instructions on Wednesdays, Advent lectures along with the Toys for Tots project and the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Toy drive, an Annual Fall Yard Festival, a newly Advisory Council with local pastors as members. We adopted a 10 year old girl, “Jarso Bethlehem,” who lives in Ethiopia. Our support of her will allow her to attend school. The Christian Education Director, Andrew Petersen, PH.D, leads us weekly with the History of the Early Church. The book club allows everyone to read books with spiritual themes while discussing how they impact us as a Christian community. Last but not least, we implemented The Reverend Martha Hodge Robinson Memorial Scholarship.
We are progressive in action while taking strides to become the church that will last for future generations, and we are confident that with God's help everything is possible. We are glad you have chosen to read about us and hope you will join us in person.
Blessings,
Pastor Gloria Aghogah. D.Min
